Minca is a small self-sustaining village with unimaginable wealth, with spectacular and diverse flora and fauna since its located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, which was declared "Reserve of the Man and Biosphere" by UNESCO and Ecosystem priority for conservation in South America by the International Union. Minca gets its name because Don Juan de Minca who was the first to settle there with his family, coming from Spain. Among the spectacular flora Minca trees are 40 meters in height with palms, ferns and vines and other vegetation which provide us with spectacular green views and with stunning panoramic views of Santa Marta those of which we highlight the Minca mirador (viewpoint) and the Casa Loma Hostel.
